Music Lessons

Piano lessons

These are offered either for examination purposes or for enjoyment only. The examination boards offered are ABRSM (Grades 1-Diploma), Trinity (Grades 1-Diploma) and Trinity Rock and Pop (Grade 1-8). Music wherever possible is provided free of charge also examination books tend not to be free and are necessary to enter the examination. Lessons take place on line and make extensive use of technology. Please ensure that your internet connection is fast enough to cope with at least an audio call. Current pricing is £15 for 3/4 hour.

Vocal lessons

These are offered for examination purposes or for enjoyment only. The examination boards offered  are ABRSM (Grades 1-Diploma), Trinity (Grads 1-Diploma) and Trinity Rock and Pop (Grades 1-5). Music wherever possible is provided free of charge also examination books tend not to be free and are necessary to enter the examination. Lessons take place on line and make extensive use of technology. Please ensure that your internet connection is fast enough to cope with at least an audio call. Current pricing is £15 for 3/4 hour.

Theory and Composition Lessons

These are offered for examination purposes or for enjoyment only. Theory examinations take place with ABRSM. Students are encouraged to purchase the workbooks for the grade they wish to enter. Lessons take place online and require the ability to send screen shots or images of the work completed for marking purposes. These are stored on the app to which only the director has access to. Theory lessons can take place over an audio call and are less intensive with regard to bandwidth usage. Current pricing varies according to the grade being taken. Grade 1 is £11 per 3/4 hour rising to £18 for grade 8. This is due to the amount of work that has to be prepared and covered outside of lesson time.

Composition lessons are developed for the individual student and require use of a notation package such as Sibelius or Musescore (MAC and PC) Notion (IPad) or any other program that can produce a coherent music score and MIDI, AIFF or WAV files. We have access to Logic, GarageBand, Notion and Sibelius to help you with your work. Please note that we cannot help you purchasing licences for this software. Lesson fees vary according to student and composition being worked on.

Accompanist services

Accompaniments and backing tracks can be produced if requested or a pianist is available for live performance for example in a concert or competition. POA.

Organ accompaniments are also available and Nick is an organist of 40 years having experience in church services of all different types. Music suggestions can also be offered for the likes of weddings, funerals etc. POA
